My real name - behind the alias 'Freedom Writer' - is Stephen Desmond and I live in a quiet little corner of the Calder Valley in beautiful West Yorkshire.
Previously, I spent 20 years in London where I worked in a variety of content marketing roles for The BBC, The Press Association, The Telegraph, AOL and Nutmeg.
I've always loved writing and editing stuff but, after many years in the corporate machine, I made it my mission to save up, live lean and retire to rural northern England.
Since then I've spent a lot of time decompressing - roaming the local hills and watching local bands - and now find myself calmer and more generous of spirit, with a desire to help others. To do that, I figured I could put to good use the skills I acquired during my career.
My aim is simple: to offer free content marketing assistance to local organisations, or to individuals with a personal project or young business idea, to help them grow their initiatives. Satisfied customers are very welcome to donate to my preferred charity, the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC), but there is absolutely no obligation to do so.
So here I am. Feel free to email me if you have any questions, or submit your project for consideration - FreedomWriterUK@gmail.com.
